Together with Small Project Foundation, Meyers Motors ISUZU spent Nelson Mandela Day, celebrated annually on 18th July 2024.with a roll out of Eye Tests for Early Childhood Development children at Kwakwhanye Day Care in Scenery Park.
The Centre was adopted by ISUZU Foundation earlier in the year in conjunction with the ISUZU Foundation.Unsuitable toilet facilities and a derelict classroom was replaced with safer, more suitable toilets and a prefab classroom, returning dignity and safety to students and teachers.
Mandela Day is an annual global celebration that takes place on 18 July to honour the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela. This day is a call to action for individuals, communities, and organisations to take time to reflect on Mandela's values and principles and to make a positive impact in their own communities.
The UMBONO Project identifies early eyesight issues to ensure learners have the best opportunity to learn. During the morning, 30 children were screened by volunteers under the careful supervision of Optometrist, Mita Pema-Keshaw
A few high risk children have been identified for referral where their eyes will be evaluated professionally by the team. Educators were also trained on how to identify children who might be at risk for visual impairment. This includes caring for eye discomfort, difficulty seeing, and concentration.Text here ...
