Meyers Motors Gives Back.

Meyers Motors celebrated Nelson Mandela’s legacy in partnership with Loaves and Fishes Network.Meyers handed over personal protective equipment to Sive Day Care Centre, situated in Nompumelelo, Beacon Bay.

Sive Day Care is part of a sustainable childcare training and development programme looking after disadvantaged communities in the Eastern Cape.

The Day Care was adopted by the Loaves and Fishes Network in 2019, and currently has over 60 children registered aged 0-6.The school has four passionate teachers, who are eager to see the children back to school.

As communities across the world are affected by the spread of Covid-19, which has hit every economy, causing new social and economic challenges and exacerbating old ones, Meyers Motors was determined to give back to our the local community.

Sive Day Care Centre is currently awaiting an update from the Department of Basic Education, as the school has remained closed since the initial lock down on 26 March 2020.

To aid the reopening of the Educare Centre, Meyers Motors has sponsored Personal Protective Equipment including sanitising products, disposable aprons, face shields, masks as well as a thermometer to measure temperature of staff and children.

This donation will ensure that there is no further delay in reopening once the South African government announces reopening of early childhood education. We would also like to thank our partners at ECO Tanks who have donated a slim line water tank which will be installed onsite. This will enable frequent hand washing by all students.
